CM Pema Khandu Greets Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura on Statehood Days

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday conveyed warm greetings to the people of Meghalaya, Manipur, and Tripura on their respective Statehood Days. He shared his wishes through posts on X (formerly Twitter).

Through his messages, Khandu highlighted the cultural richness, historical importance, and development journey of the three northeastern states. He also stressed unity and shared progress across the region.

Meghalaya: A Balance of Nature and Tradition

While greeting Meghalaya, which attained statehood in 1972, Khandu praised the state for its harmony between nature and human life. He described Meghalaya as the “Abode of Clouds.”

Moreover, he highlighted the cultural heritage of the Khasi, Jaintia, and Garo communities. He also appreciated the state’s democratic traditions and strong community values.

At the same time, the Chief Minister expressed hope that Meghalaya would continue to grow sustainably. He stressed the need to balance development with ecological preservation and cultural pride.

Manipur: A State of Heritage and Resilience

Extending greetings to Manipur, Khandu described the state as the “Jewel of India.” He noted its ancient history and deep-rooted cultural legacy.

In addition, he praised Manipur’s classical dance traditions and artistic excellence. He also acknowledged the state’s strong presence in national and international sports.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister highlighted the resilience of the people of Manipur. He expressed hope for lasting peace, unity, and stability in the state. According to him, these values remain essential for continued progress.

Tripura: Tradition Meets Modern Growth

While greeting Tripura, Khandu said the state reflects India’s cultural diversity. He pointed to its blend of ancient history, royal heritage, and tribal traditions.

At the same time, he acknowledged Tripura’s steady progress in education, connectivity, and social development. He credited these achievements to consistent efforts toward inclusive growth.

Additionally, the Chief Minister expressed confidence in Tripura’s future. He said the state would continue to advance while preserving its unique cultural identity.

Message of Unity for the Northeast

Overall, Khandu’s greetings carried a strong message of unity among the northeastern states. He emphasized shared values, mutual respect, and collective development.

Meanwhile, the messages were widely appreciated by people across the region. Many viewed them as a reminder of the Northeast’s cultural richness and common aspirations.

As the three states marked their Statehood Days, the Chief Minister’s words reinforced the importance of harmony, heritage, and sustainable progress.
