Minister Reviews Development in Saitual

Union Minister Satish Chandra Dubey visited Saitual district on Monday and reviewed key development issues. He met officials from various government departments to assess progress and identify challenges.

Concern Over Youth Substance Abuse

Dubey also expressed serious concern about rising substance abuse among young people. Therefore, he called on local authorities to launch awareness campaigns and preventive programmes.

He stressed that early intervention and community participation can help tackle the issue effectively. In addition, he encouraged departments to work together to protect youth from addiction.


Mining Sector Review and Support Assurance

The meeting also focused on the mining sector in Mizoram. Lalthankima, Assistant Controller of Mines, presented an overview of current conditions and challenges.

In response, the minister assured that the needs of the Directorate of Geology and Mining would receive careful consideration. He added that the central government will extend all possible support to improve the sector.


Visit to Saitual District Hospital

After the meeting, the minister visited Saitual District Hospital to review healthcare services. Medical officials, including Dr. Zothanpari Chhakchhuak and Dr. Lalhmunmawii, briefed him on facilities and patient care.

He interacted with hospital staff and assessed the functioning of the institution. This visit highlighted the government’s focus on improving healthcare infrastructure in the district.
