As the world commemorates Guru Nanak Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh religion, a wave of joy and spiritual resonance fills the hearts of Sikhs worldwide. A Beacon of Enlightenment

Born in Talwandi, now known as Nankana Sahib, Pakistan, in 1469, Guru Nanak Dev exhibited an exceptional intellect and a deep spiritual inclination from a young age. At the age of 30, he experienced a profound spiritual awakening, leading him to embark on a lifelong journey of spreading his message of peace, love, and oneness of humanity.

Core Principles of Sikhi

Guru Nanak Dev’s teachings, enshrined in the holy scripture of the Guru Granth Sahib, provide a roadmap for spiritual fulfillment and harmonious coexistence. He emphasized the concept of “Ik Onkar,” meaning “One God,” transcending the boundaries of religion and caste. He also introduced the Five K’s – Kesh (uncut hair), Kangha (comb), Kara (steel bracelet), Kachera (short pants), and Kirpan (ceremonial sword) – as symbols of Sikh identity and values.
