During his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of focusing on ‘consumer care’ beyond just consumer rights. He encouraged businesses to consider establishing an ‘international consumer care day’ to strengthen the bond of trust between businesses and consumers. Highlighting the significance of this approach, he remarked, “Can we talk about consumer care? It will send a positive signal and will resolve consumer rights issues. We need to boost trust between businesses and consumers.”

Prime Minister Modi also weighed in on the topic of cryptocurrencies, emphasizing the need for an integrated approach to address the complexities surrounding them. He stressed that an inclusive and collaborative strategy is required to deal with the challenges and opportunities presented by cryptocurrencies.

The prime minister extended his appreciation to India’s space agency, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), for its significant achievement in the successful landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the moon’s south pole. He applauded the combined efforts of ISRO, Indian industries, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and private companies for making this accomplishment possible. “ISRO played an important role but along with it, the Indian industry, MSMEs, and private companies also contributed to this mission. This is a success of both science and industry,” he remarked.

India as digital revolution leader

Highlighting India’s potential as a digital revolution leader, Prime Minister Modi underlined the country’s role in Industry 4.0. He expressed confidence in the transformative power of businesses, regardless of their size or scope, to drive progress for all. “Business can transform potential into prosperity, obstacles into opportunities, and aspiration into achievements. Whether they are small or big, global or local, business can ensure progress for everyone,” he said.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi also addressed the global supply chain’s efficiency, stressing India’s pivotal role in ensuring a disruption-free supply chain during times of need. He noted, “The world can never look at the global supply chain in the same way. Can a supply chain be called efficient when it gets disrupted during the time of need? India is the solution to this problem.”

Furthermore, the prime minister championed a pro-planet approach, urging nations to prioritize environmentally-friendly practices. He emphasized India’s focus on green energy and its aim to replicate the success of solar energy in the green hydrogen sector. The prime minister’s vision of collaboration was embodied through initiatives like the International Solar Alliance, which aims to unite countries in their pursuit of sustainable energy solutions.

Conclusion

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the B20 summit showcased his multi-faceted approach to economic development, emphasizing consumer care, integrated strategies, and sustainable practices for a brighter future.
